August Chicago Trip!

Taking the entire summer off from teaching has been amazing. I have only done it once before and it was because Terry and I were getting married that summer. We have had time to get things done around the house, relax, play with the pups, and travel. These are some pictures from our trip to Chicago to see my family and to watch the White Sox vs. Angels series. Although the Angels only went one for three, it was still an amazing and unforgettable trip.

Weekend Update

Saturday Morning.

This weekend was very relaxing. I feel like we got a lot accomplished and had a lot of fun. Before I left for Megan's baby shower on Saturday afternoon I worked out, did laundry, cleaned up around the house and got myself looking cute for the shower. While I was busys with all of this, Terry decided to give the boys a bath. We used to wash them outside, but since it hasn't been that warm lately we put them into my bath tub. The pups are starting to feel more comfortable in the bath tub. Figgins has adjusted much more quickly than Halo, who is still on the fence about this bath tub thing.

Saturday Night.

Saturday night everyone gathered at Christy and Stephens house for Jon Box's "Night on the Town." Since we had not gotten together as a group in a while Jon thought it would be fun to rally the troops and do something fun and laid back for a change. We ordered pizzas, had a few beverages and then went bowling. I had such a blast, I honestly wasn't expecting bowling to be so much fun.

Sunday.

Due to the time change, and the fact that we didn't get home until 2 am from bowling, Sunday was a lazy day. Terry still did some outdoor chores, but the pups and I planted ourselves on the couch and caught up on all of our favorite TV shows. It was a very peaceful day. That evening Terry even made ME dinner!! It was a weekend to remember.

My Belated Birthday Pics

My birthday was last year, December 18th, because my Mom gave me a new camera just days later for Christmas, I forgot these pictures were on my old one. Better late than never, I suppose. I turned 31 years old, somehow it was much easier to take than when I turned 30 the previous year. I had an amazing day, my students surprised me at school with balloons, baked goods, presents, and gift cards, it was truly unexpected and made me feel very special. When I got home that afternoon I was delighted to see my pups dressed in their party hats ready to celebrate with me!! It was really hilarious, that sight was officially the best part of my birthday, thanks Terry! Later that night we met up with some good friends at the Lazy Dog Cafe, our favorite restaurant. I couldn't have asked for a better day.

Family Fun in San Diego!

Derrick is a home owner...wow...at 23, I am so proud of him! My parents flew in from Chicago for the weekend to help him with the move. Mom is just about the most organized person on the planet, so it is awesome to have her in your corner for events like this! Terry and I drove down from Orange County to San Diego after school on Thursday so that we could see everyone. We all went out to a local spot to watch the Bears play the Saints, there is NOTHING like watching a Bears game with Dad! It was a very fun, quick trip, it was amazing to see my family. It isn't so hard to say goodbye when you know you will be on a plane on your way to see them the next week!
